    How does it work?

      • Tinexyl PRO is a world’s first nail conditioning treatment.

        The water-based formula is optimised to be absorbed into the nail tissue and contains hydrophilic TXYL polymers (chains of amino acids). Hydrophobic organic solvents and plant derived oils do not effectively penetrate the nail plate, which naturally comprises as much as 7-12% water, but only 0.1-1% oily content (lipids). Essential oils (tea tree, lemongrass, eucalyptus etc.) are a highly concentrated mixture of synthetically derived botanical volatile organic compounds which are hydrophobic and not able to effectively penetrate the nail.

        The proprietary, hydrophilic TXYL conditioning polymers in Tinexyl PRO penetrate the nail effectively to improve nail condition. Hydrating and restoring nail structure, strength and barrier function from the inside-out. Lactic acid gently debrides keratin, smoothing and brightening the nail from the outside-in.

        The overall result is more resilient, healthier looking and feeling nails.

      How to apply

        • Tinexyl PRO is applied in cycles of once-daily (overnight) application for 28 days. 

          Tinexyl PRO should initially be applied by a podiatrist or foot health practitioner (ideally following a degree of debridement) and then the patient should continue to use the product at home for 28 days according to the product instructions included in the box.

          We recommend for convenience and to allow maximum absorption of the product that Tinexyl PRO is applied in the evening and left on overnight. Our 5mL bottle provides sufficient for 6 months of treatment for 1-2 target nails, 4 months for 2-3 nails and 2 months for all toenails. 

          Multiple cycles of 28-day application are recommended in the first instance and when toenail issues are long-standing, with periodic cycles of 28-day application thereafter to maintain nail health.

        Frequently asked questions

          Which patients can I use this product on?

          You can use Tinexyl PRO on a wide range of patients with nail pathologies - any patient with discoloured, thickened, brittle, dry nails. Tinexyl PRO rapidly and effectively corrects cosmetic issues and discomfort associated with nail plate damage from onychomycosis, onychauxis, onychoschizia etc. It’s unique in this regard and use is not restricted to specific problems. Importantly, because its urea, paraben, alcohol and organic solvent-free, you can use Tinexyl PRO on diabetic patients and other higher-risk groups.           Is the product antifungal/does it contain an antifungal?

          No, it’s a conditioning product and is not antifungal, but in restoring and improving toenail structure and barrier function – through conditioning and hydration – it corrects the damage and resolves the cosmetic issues and discomfort associated with onychomycosis.

          Can you use it on onychomycotic nails?

          Yes, it’s not an antifungal (see question above) but we’ve already had great feedback on it restoring nail structure and improving appearance and texture of nails where there have been long-term issues with stubborn and unresolved fungal infection.

          Can I/my patient use Tinexyl PRO with other products and treatments?

          We recommend only using Tinexyl PRO as it may not be compatible with other topical products. Please contact info@tinexylpro.co.uk for more specific information on use with other products and treatments.

          How long should I/my patient use Tinexyl PRO for?

          This is your judgement depending on the nature and extent of the problem, but at least every day (the patient should apply in the evening and leave overnight) for 28 days. Multiple cycles of use with review in between each cycle are recommended for more stubborn nail issues. We recommend periodic application for 28 days to maintain nail health.

          How and when should I apply it and how should my patient use it?

          The instructions are contained within each box for your patient and are available here. Apply at your patient’s first visit. Once you have applied to the nails, nail edges and surrounding skin, allow the product to dry for around 20 minutes before the patient puts on their socks and/or shoes. Your patient should then apply the product nightly for a further 28 days and then have a review before a decision is taken on any further cycles of application before moving into a maintenance regimen with periodic cycles of 28-day application.

          How long does a bottle of Tinexyl PRO last?

          Each bottle contains 5 mL and will last for up to 6 months (i.e. 6 x cycles of 28 day application) if treating 1-2 target nails, will last 4 months if treating 2-3 toenails and 2 months if treating every toenail.

          When should I/my patient notice any results?

          Patients have reported an improvement in general nail appearance and nail structure very rapidly and even after the first application, but depending on the nature and extent of the issue, significant correction of discolouration, thickness and texture may take time as the product works and healthy nail grows out.  Results will vary depending on the individual. it is important to comply with the instructions for use to ensure optimal results.
